Pedro Sánchez calls for mass mobilization to defeat PP and Vox

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, the PSOE candidate for reelection, called for mass voter mobilization during a pre-campaign rally in Tarragona. Sánchez framed the upcoming November 29 elections as a choice between progress and a "journey to the past" represented by the leaders of the PP and Vox parties.

During his speech, Sánchez referenced the participation of Pope Leo XIV in the United States midterm elections as an example of the importance of voting to combat political involution. He suggested that a large, progressive majority is necessary to prevent the rise of the far-right in Spain, drawing parallels to recent political shifts in Brazil and the United States.

Sánchez positioned himself as an antithesis to international leaders such as Donald Trump, Javier Milei, and Jair Bolsonaro, asserting that Spain must not become a "backyard" for the international far-right. He also addressed the recent railway accident in Toledo, though he did not minimize its impact on his campaign.
