Pedro Sánchez faces criticism over RTVE interview production

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has faced criticism regarding a recent interview conducted by an external production company for RTVE. The Consejo de Informativos de TVE (CDI) expressed strong rejection of this arrangement, labeling it an ‘unprecedented fact of extreme gravity.’

The CDI noted that the use of an external producer violates the RTVE Framework Mandate, specifically Article 35.2, which stipulates that institutional and informative production must be 100% internally produced.

Additionally, the Prime Minister’s responses during media appearances have drawn scrutiny. During a recent interview, when asked if the world needs ‘more understanding of culture and less hate,’ Sánchez responded with a single word: ‘Absolutely.’
