Pedro Sánchez responds humorously to Italian comedian's satirical letter

Italian comedian Luciana Littizzetto used her segment on the television program ‘Che tempo che fa’ to deliver a satirical letter to Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. In the comedic monologue, Littizzetto jokingly invited Sánchez to move to Italy to help mediate the divisions within the Italian center-left coalition, specifically referencing the friction between leaders Elly Schlein and Giuseppe Conte.

Littizzetto used a culinary metaphor, comparing the diverse and often conflicting elements of the ‘Campo Largo’ coalition to a paella with ‘a thousand ingredients’ that requires a leader to ‘season and amalgamate’ them.

Sánchez responded to the gesture on social media with similar humor. He stated, ‘I have to stay in Spain cooking paella for at least another four years,’ while also jokingly suggesting that Elly Schlein would be a better fit for Italy. He concluded his response with a reference to the song by Raffaella Carrà.
