Pedro Troglio submits resignation as Banfield manager
Pedro Troglio has submitted his resignation as the manager of Banfield amid institutional tension and poor domestic league performance. Despite the resignation, club president Matías Mariotto and the board have decided not to accept it for the time being, allowing Troglio to lead the team for at least one more match against Gimnasia La Plata.
The friction stems from a combination of sporting results and administrative difficulties. Banfield has secured only one victory in regular time during its last nine matches and currently sits 15 points away from relegation in the annual table. Troglio has cited significant management hurdles, including a recent lifting of a transfer ban and the inability to conduct a full pre-season with the complete squad.
While the club faces domestic struggles, it has achieved success by reaching the semifinals of the Copa Argentina. However, disagreements persist between the coaching staff and the board regarding the club's economic reality and recent public statements made by the manager.
