Pedro Uczai leaves ICU after suffering stroke during leadership meeting
Pedro Uczai, the leader of the Workers' Party (PT) in the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies, has been moved out of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Hospital DF Star in Brasília following an ischemic stroke.
The medical event occurred last Tuesday during a meeting of the Chamber's leaders, causing Uczai to faint and leading to the cancellation of the scheduled deliberative session. Medical assessments identified the stroke as being located in the left cerebellum.
According to his medical team and party representatives, Uczai is conscious and showing positive clinical evolution, with no reported cognitive or motor impairments. He remains hospitalized for continued monitoring and testing, with a projected hospital discharge on Monday, August 17.
