Peel Ports Group appoints Jamie Strain as Scotland port director
Peel Ports Group has appointed Jamie Strain as the new port director for its Clydeport business in Scotland. Strain succeeds Jim McSporran, who is retiring later this month.
Strain joins the group from Amazon, where he served as the site lead general manager for one of the largest distribution centres in the United Kingdom located in Dunfermline. His professional background also includes 13 years at Tesco.
In his new role, Strain will oversee several key Scottish sites, including the Port of Greenock, KGV Dock in Glasgow, and Hunterston PARC in Ayrshire. The appointment coincides with the ongoing redevelopment of the Hunterston PARC site, a project projected to attract £3.5 billion in inward investment and generate more than 5,000 jobs.
