I. League announces new regulations for Championship 2026/27
As the 2026/2027 Championship approaches, PT Liga Utama Indonesia (PT LUI) has announced new regulations regarding away supporters and club licensing. General Manager Budiman Dalimunthe stated that away fans may attend matches provided the host club meets specific criteria, including stadium readiness, security, police permits, and a clean history of club rivalries. If approved, away supporter quotas will be limited to between five and eight percent of stadium capacity.
Several clubs face potential point deductions due to licensing and home base issues. Persipura Jayapura and PSBS Biak are both at risk of starting the season with negative points. Persipura is facing a one-point deduction related to a disciplinary committee sanction regarding their home venue. PSBS Biak faces more severe consequences; the club reportedly failed to meet four out of five required club licensing aspects, including financial stability requirements, and is also dealing with the lack of a home stadium, potentially using Gresik as a temporary base.
Additionally, Persija Jakarta has concluded its training camp in Thailand. Coach Shin Tae-yong reported that the squad's performance has improved to approximately 70–80 percent following successful friendly matches against Police Tero and Chiangrai United.
