AirAsia and Pegasus Airlines launch historic codeshare partnership
AirAsia and Pegasus Airlines have entered into a landmark codeshare partnership, marking AirAsia’s first-ever codeshare agreement. The alliance aims to bridge Southeast Asia and Europe by utilizing Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport as a central hub.
The collaboration provides passengers with seamless access to over 100 combined routes. Initial service includes connections to five European destinations: London (Stansted), Moscow (Vnukovo), Ankara (Esenboga), Zurich, and Athens. Travelers can benefit from single-booking convenience and through-checked baggage to their final destinations.
To support this expanded connectivity, AirAsia X plans to increase its Kuala Lumpur to Istanbul flight frequency from four times weekly to daily service by February 2027. AirAsia Group CEO Bo Lingam noted the partnership is a milestone in the company’s 25th year as it evolves into a global low-cost network carrier. Pegasus Airlines CEO Güliz Öztürk highlighted the role of Istanbul as a natural connection point between the two continents.
