Peggy Trikalioti addresses gender pay gap in workplace
Greek actress Peggy Trikalioti spoke about gender inequality in the workplace during an appearance on the ERTnews program ‘Enas ki Enas’. While promoting her new theatrical project, she addressed the emotional toll of professional disparities.
Trikalioti shared that she felt overwhelmed after discovering a male colleague was paid significantly more than her, despite them being of similar age and having roles of equal size. She noted that women are often labeled as ‘grumbling’ when reacting to workplace issues, whereas men are viewed as ‘decisive’ for similar behavior.
She also highlighted a systemic issue where producers may prioritize male actors based on perceived commercial appeal and ticket sales, contributing to the ongoing wage gap between genders in the industry.
