The 116th Pavli Fair, one of Turkey’s oldest traditional fairs, drew an estimated 400,000 visitors to the district of Pehlivanköy in Kırklareli. The four-day event, which traces its origins to a decree by Sultan Abdulhamid II, combines commerce, entertainment, and cultural heritage.

Pehlivanköy Mayor Gündüz Hoşgör noted that attendance increased compared to the previous year. The massive influx of visitors caused significant traffic congestion on the final day, with long queues reported on local roads. Due to the high volume of people in the district of only 1,700 residents, some visitors maintained local traditions by camping in the beds of tractors and pickup trucks.
