Crime reported in Atlantic Canada involving fraud and firearms
Several criminal incidents have been reported across Atlantic Canada. In Newfoundland, Jins Joseph was sentenced to five months of house arrest after being convicted of theft and eight counts of fraud. The scheme involved a meat-pricing scam where Joseph defrauded his former employer, Dominion, by applying heavy discounts to meat products for himself and others.
In Cape Breton, police have charged a local man with multiple firearms offences following the execution of a search warrant at a residence. Additionally, Halifax Regional Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was discovered in a load of material at a local recycling facility.
