Pekanbaru City Government prepares MSME assistance for 2026

The Pekanbaru City Government is preparing assistance programs for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) scheduled for 2026. The initiative, managed by the Pekanbaru City Cooperatives and UKM Office, aims to provide business carts, tents, and raw materials, specifically targeting MSMEs from underprivileged communities.

Dr. H. Idrus, Head of the Pekanbaru Cooperatives and UKM Office, stated that the program is intended to help small business owners overcome limitations in business facilities and initial production capital. The goal is to encourage economic growth and reduce poverty by helping entrepreneurs maintain operations, increase productivity, and expand income opportunities.

To ensure the aid reaches the intended recipients, the government will conduct direct field data collection and involve MSME groups to identify those in need. Eligible participants include MSMEs from low-income categories who possess specific skills or expertise.
