Pekanbaru reports 534 dengue fever cases and one death
The Pekanbaru City Government, through its Health Office, has issued a warning following an increase in dengue fever (DBD) cases. Between January and July 2026, 534 cases were recorded in the city, resulting in one death in the Tuah Madani district.
Case distribution is widespread across nearly all districts in Pekanbaru. The highest concentrations were found in Tuah Madani with 86 cases and Marpoyan Damai with 85 cases. Other notable areas include Bukit with 66 cases and Binawidya with 44 cases.
In response, health officials are conducting fogging and mosquito larvae cleaning efforts in residential areas. While most patients have recovered and no intensive care treatments are currently required, authorities urge the public to remain vigilant.
