Pelindo Jasa Maritim dismisses Silfester Matutina as Commissioner

PT Pelindo Jasa Maritim has dismissed Silfester Matutina from his position as Independent Commissioner, effective September 23, 2026. Matutina had been appointed to the role on September 18, 2026, replacing Eris Herryanto.

The dismissal follows public scrutiny regarding Matutina’s legal status. According to the Attorney General's Office, Matutina is a convict under a final Supreme Court decision (Number 287 K/Pid/2019) involving a 1.5-year prison sentence for defamation. Despite the ruling being legally binding, he has not yet served his sentence and is considered a fugitive by the Attorney General's Office.

Tubagus Patrick, SVP Secretary of PT Pelindo Jasa Maritim, stated that the decision was made by shareholders following an evaluation. He noted that the appointment and dismissal of the Board of Commissioners are within the authority of the shareholders and conducted through corporate mechanisms in accordance with applicable regulations. The company expressed that it values public oversight as input to strengthen good corporate governance.
