Pelindo Jayapura reports growth in container and cargo throughput
PT Pelindo Regional 4 Jayapura reported significant growth in logistics activity through August 2026. Container throughput reached 62,273 TEUs, representing an 11.2 percent increase compared to the 56,008 TEUs recorded during the same period in the previous year.
Non-container cargo volume also saw a substantial rise, reaching 132,618 tons, a 101.3 percent increase from the 65,879 tons recorded in 2025. General Manager Ramdan Affan Kiai Demak attributed this growth to increased general cargo loading and unloading activities at the Port of Jayapura.
The company stated that these figures highlight the port's growing role in maintaining connectivity and smooth logistics distribution across Papua. Pelindo aims to strengthen its services and operational reliability to ensure the port functions as a vital link in the supply chain connecting Papua to other regions in Indonesia.
