Peller and Jarvis wedding sparks social media debate in Nigeria
Nigerian TikTok creators Peller (Habeeb Hamzat Adelaja) and Jarvis (Amadou Elizabeth Aminata) have concluded their wedding celebrations in Lagos, which included a traditional ceremony on August 1 and a white wedding on August 8, 2026. The high-profile event has dominated social media discussions, highlighting the growing influence of the creator economy in Nigeria.
Peller disclosed that the wedding costs exceeded N300 million, sparking online debate regarding the financial scale and potential returns of the celebration. The festivities also drew scrutiny after a lawyer called for an investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) due to videos showing money scattered on the floor; however, some observers noted the currency appeared to be US dollars.
Controversies also emerged regarding social conduct, including reports of a dispute on the dance floor involving Peller’s mother and a businesswoman criticizing his treatment of her. Additionally, Peller issued a warning to other content creators against disrespecting his wife or using her name for controversial trends. Despite the attention, Jarvis stated that her marriage will not hinder her career, expressing ambitions to expand her brand into acting and film.
