Pellerano family disputes honor for late jurist in Dominican Republic
Four of the six heirs of the late jurist Juan Manuel Pellerano Gómez have formally requested the President of the Supreme Court of Justice, Luis Henry Molina Peña, to prevent their brother, Ricardo Antonio Pellerano Paradas, from participating in a legal ceremony honoring their father.
The heirs, claiming to represent 66.66% of the estate, sent a letter stating they would not authorize the tribute if Ricardo participates in person or virtually. They argue that Ricardo does not represent their father’s values or legacy. The communication includes serious allegations against Ricardo, including physical aggression, death threats, and disputes regarding the control of the law firm Pellerano & Herrera.
Specific allegations detailed in the correspondence include a 2025 judicial protection order issued against Ricardo following an incident involving his brother, Carlos Daniel, and a 2018 incident involving threats with a firearm. The siblings have requested that Luis Rafael Pellerano Paradas deliver the words of gratitude during the XXXIX Lawyer's Swearing-in Ceremony instead.
