Pellerano & Herrera and Legal 500 recognize 111 legal professionals

The law firm Pellerano & Herrera and the British publication The Legal 500 have recognized 111 corporate legal professionals in the fifth consecutive edition of the GC Powerlist Dominican Republic 2026.

The ceremony, held in Santo Domingo, highlighted the evolving role of General Counsels, noting their increasing involvement in strategic organizational decision-making. Discussions centered on the challenges posed by significant legal reforms, such as the new Penal Code.

Ricardo Pellerano, managing partner of Pellerano & Herrera, stated that the current landscape requires legal departments to be more active in risk prevention, regulatory compliance, and preparing organizations for new obligations. He emphasized that the role of the General Counsel now involves anticipating risks and combining legal expertise with a strategic business vision. Margherita Birri, representing The Legal 500, noted that the Dominican Republic has established itself as an increasingly sophisticated legal hub in the region.
