Pelni provides free humanitarian aid shipping to East Nusa Tenggara
PT Pelni (Persero) announced that the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation has provided a 100 percent discount on cargo tariffs to facilitate the free shipment of humanitarian aid for earthquake victims in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
This policy allows agencies and institutions wishing to send aid to NTT to be exempt from cargo fees on passenger ships. The initiative follows Ministry of Transportation Regulation number PM 8 of 2023 regarding upper limit tariffs for public service obligations in the maritime transport sector for economy class passengers.
As part of this effort, the vessel KM Tidar recently delivered 481 packages of humanitarian aid to Lorens Say Port in Maumere. The aid was provided by various parties, including Pelni subsidiaries PT Sarana Bandar Nasional (SBN) and PT Pelita Indonesia Djaya (PID) as part of their social and environmental responsibility programs.
