Peloponnese police conduct extensive security operations and arrests

Police forces across the Peloponnese region of Greece conducted extensive security operations on August 26 and 28, 2026, aimed at preventing crime and enhancing public safety. The operations were organized by the General Regional Police Directorate of Peloponnese, involving departments from Argolis, Arcadia, Corinthia, Laconia, and Messenia.

During the broader regional sweep, authorities inspected 736 individuals (655 locals and 81 foreigners) and 560 vehicles. The operations resulted in 27 arrests and 44 individuals being brought before authorities. Reported offenses included drug possession, theft of electricity, illegal residence, weapons violations, dangerous driving, and environmental law infractions.

Specific regional details include the seizure of cannabis and hunting weapons in Arcadia, and various arrests for identity document violations and health regulation breaches in Argolis and Laconia. In Messenia, several arrests were made related to narcotics and weapons legislation. Authorities also seized electrical cables in Argolis suspected of being used for illegal activities.
