Peloponnese police conduct major crime crackdown

The Peloponnese Regional Police Directorate conducted extensive law enforcement operations across the Greek regions of Argolis, Arcadia, Corinthia, Laconia, and Messinia between September 1 and September 15, 2026. The operations aimed to combat crime and ensure public safety.

During the period, authorities inspected 712 individuals (634 locals and 78 foreigners) and 501 vehicles. The crackdown resulted in 66 individuals being taken into custody and 42 arrests.

Specific offenses reported include drug trafficking, theft of electricity, possession of forged or withheld identification, and illegal rural trade. In Messinia, several arrests were made for narcotics and attempted theft, while other regions saw arrests related to traffic violations and administrative issues regarding undocumented residency.
