Peloponnese Region receives dual European tourism awards
The Peloponnese Region received two European recognitions at the 19th European Cultural Tourism Network (ECTN) Congress held in Skiathos.
The initiative ‘Reviving Myrsini: Regenerative Village Tourism through Olive Culture’ received a Special Mention in the ‘Destination of Sustainable Cultural Tourism 2026’ awards. This project, implemented by the family business Delta Morea, focuses on revitalizing the village of Myrsini in Laconia through olive culture, gastronomy, and local community involvement.
Additionally, ‘AdventureWEEK Peloponnese’ was selected for presentation as a best practice in ‘Active, Slow and Accessible Cultural Tourism.’ The program demonstrates how to connect sustainable and active tourism with local culture and community routes. Peloponnese Governor Dimitris Ptochos noted that these awards reflect the region's growing international presence and its ability to generate ideas with European impact.
