Pelu Awofeso releases second edition of White Lagos book

Travel journalist Pelu Awofeso has released a second edition of his book, ‘White Lagos’, which documents the history and cultural significance of the Eyo Festival in Lagos. The work explores the intersection of coastal heritage, urban history, and cultural preservation through the lens of the historic festival.

Awofeso’s research began in 2003, following his coverage of the festival held to mourn Oba Adeyinka Oyekan II. The book, which was first published in 2017 as part of the Lagos@50 celebrations, was recently unveiled at a program hosted by Goge Africa. The new edition features updated content and a new cover.
