Pembrey to compete in Silver Shadow Stakes with Gollan and McDonald

Trainer Tony Gollan is reuniting with jockey James McDonald to campaign the three-year-old filly Pembrey in the Group 2 Silver Shadow Stakes at Randwick this Saturday. The race marks the start of her spring campaign, where she will compete at a 1200-metre distance.

McDonald previously rode Pembrey to victory in the Group 3 Magic Night Stakes at Rosehill in February. Following that win, the filly competed in the Group 1 Golden Slipper with jockey Tim Clark, but finished near the back of the field following a wide barrier draw and interference during the final furlong. Gollan noted that the filly has since had a significant break and has performed well in recent trials.
