Pembrokeshire faces planning disputes over holiday let proposals

Planning disputes regarding holiday let accommodations are emerging in Pembrokeshire. An appeal is currently underway with Planning and Environment Decisions Wales (PEDW) following the refusal of a shepherd hut holiday let application by the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The applicant, Alex Mazaheri, seeks retrospective permission for the hut and associated parking near Cresselly. The initial refusal cited concerns regarding visual intrusion, unjustified development in the countryside, and insufficient data regarding nutrient neutrality in the Pembrokeshire Marine Special Area of Conservation.

Separately, a proposal has been submitted to Pembrokeshire County Council to convert an existing garage and storeroom into a two-bedroom holiday let annex at Basford Park, Wooden. The applicants, John Forward and Julie Clare, state the conversion will utilize an existing building with minimal external alterations. To prevent the loss of permanent residential housing, the proposal includes a restriction limiting individual stays to a maximum of six consecutive weeks.
