Pembrokeshire sheep farm D B Davies & Sons approved to rebuild arson‑damaged dwelling

The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority has granted planning permission to D B Davies & Sons Unlimited to repair and convert a fire‑damaged building at Mynydd Du, Rosebush, into an agricultural worker’s dwelling. The renovation will enable Dyfed Davies, who works full‑time on the farm, to monitor a flock of about 5,000 ewes and 10 suckler cows spread over roughly 1,500 acres of owned land and an additional 3,000 acres of common land. The original dwelling, part of a farm complex that includes Eisteddfa Fawr and land near Brynberian, was subject to arson around 2013 and has remained unoccupied since 1990. The application, prepared by Harries Planning Design Management with a supporting statement from Reading Agricultural Consultants Ltd, cites the need for on‑site accommodation to ensure animal welfare during lambing and other critical periods.
