Pemex announces 1.8 trillion peso investment plan through 2030

Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) has announced a multi-year investment program totaling approximately 1.84 trillion pesos for the 2025–2030 period. The plan aims to strengthen the entire hydrocarbon value chain, focusing heavily on exploration and extraction, which will account for roughly 79% of the total budget.

Other allocations include 185.5 billion pesos for the National Refining System, 104.2 billion pesos for logistics, and significant funds for petrochemicals, fertilizers, and natural gas processing. The company reported that its refining capacity has increased by 81% since 2018, now processing over 1.1 million barrels of crude per day.

Financially, Pemex reported a significant reduction in debt, decreasing by more than 20 billion dollars in less than two years. This brings its debt to its lowest level since 2014, which officials state will allow for reduced interest payments and increased reinvestment in production and infrastructure.
