PEN Berlin hosts ‘Heimat’ discussion in Halle

The authors' association PEN Berlin is hosting a discussion series titled ‘Is this still my country?’ across 16 locations in Saxony-Anhalt throughout August. The event in Halle will take place on Monday, August 17, at the Jewish Community Halle.

The discussion aims to explore the concept of ‘home’ (Heimat) amidst social change and political tension, specifically examining East German and Jewish perspectives on belonging. Featured speakers include Dr. Daniel Fabian, the State and Police Rabbi of Saxony-Anhalt, and journalist and author Yassin Musharbash. The session will be moderated by Christin Bohmann, editor-in-chief of Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk, and opened by Halle’s city scribe, Aron Boks.
