Penang allocates RM12.3 million for STEM education and digital learning

Penang is implementing a RM12.3 million initiative to strengthen Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education. The program aims to train 100,000 students over the next five years to meet the high-tech demands of the local industry, particularly within the semiconductor, electrical, and electronics sectors.

Economic Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir stated that the government will collaborate with various stakeholders to increase STEM interest and capacity by 2030, reinforcing Penang's position as a major technology hub.

In a separate educational development in George Town, Methodist Girls’ School (MGS) received 12 smart boards valued at RM106,200. The donation, facilitated by Lim Hui Ying, is intended to enhance interactive digital learning for both primary and secondary students.
