Pendik Book Fair opens for 11th year in Istanbul

The 11th annual Pendik Book Fair has officially opened at Pendik Sahil Square in Istanbul. The opening ceremony was attended by Pendik Mayor Ahmet Cin, Istanbul Deputy Governor Bekir Dınkırcı, and several political figures, including AK Party Istanbul Deputy Tuğba Işık Ercan.

The 10-day event brings together various stakeholders of the publishing industry, including authors, publishers, distributors, and readers. The fair features more than 130 publishing houses across 70 stands. The program includes 42 author talks, over 150 book signing sessions, and 44 workshops specifically designed for children.

Honorary guests for this year's fair include Bestami Yazgan, Nurullah Genç, and Prof. Dr. Oytun Erbaş. Mayor Ahmet Cin noted that the book fair follows a series of successful cultural events in the district, including a coffee festival and a traditional handicrafts festival.
