Pendulum horror film trailer debuts starring Phoebe Dynevor

The teaser trailer for Pendulum, a psychological horror film, has been released. Produced by Darren Aronofsky, the movie marks the directorial debut of Mark Heyman, the screenwriter of Black Swan.

Set in New Mexico, the story follows a married couple, Patrick (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and Abigail (Phoebe Dynevor), who visit a secluded new-age retreat to recover from personal trauma. As Abigail becomes increasingly influenced by the retreat’s enigmatic leader, played by Jacki Weaver, Patrick grows suspicious of the sanctuary’s true motives. The trailer suggests elements of supernatural tension, including unexplainable visions and potential spell work.

Heyman stated that the film is a personal project inspired by his own family lore and was filmed on location in his home state of New Mexico. The cast also includes Norman Reedus, Jena Malone, and Anna Deavere Smith. Pendulum is scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release on January 1, 2027, and has received an R rating for strong bloody violence, drug use, nudity, and language.
