Penedo expands land regularization through Moradia Legal program

The Moradia Legal program is expanding land regularization efforts in Penedo, Alagoas. Through a partnership involving the Court of Justice of Alagoas (TJ/AL), the Penedo City Hall, and the Association of Notaries and Registrars of Alagoas (Anoreg/AL), the initiative has already secured 1,211 property deeds for low-income families.

Recent developments include the authorization to regularize properties built on federal land in the São José Complex, which has been occupied for over 30 years. This expansion is expected to benefit more than 30 families directly, while the inclusion of remaining areas in the São José Complex could potentially regularize approximately 240 properties.

Additionally, the program is addressing the needs of the Roma community residing in Vila Matias and nearby areas such as Santa Luzia and Santana. Local authorities are working to include these residents in new registration processes to facilitate urban improvements, including street paving and drainage.
