Penedo invests 26.28% of municipal funds into health

The municipality of Penedo allocated 26.28% of its own resources to the health sector during the first four months of 2026. This investment, totaling R$ 12,422,779.19, exceeds the constitutional minimum requirement of 15%.

During a recent accountability presentation to the Municipal Health Council and the Chamber of Councilors, health secretary Waninna Mendonça detailed the application of these funds. The total revenue destined for health reached R$ 34,514,531.01. The reported expenditures covered primary care, health surveillance, specialized assistance, vaccination, and maternal and child health services.
