Penedo selected as filming location for national Northeast campaign

The city of Penedo has been selected as the filming location for a new audiovisual campaign by a major national brand to honor 'Dia do Nordestino' (Northeast Day), celebrated on October 8. The production aims to highlight the cultural identity, beauty, and heritage of the Northeast region, specifically emphasizing the relationship with the São Francisco River.

Production director Caio Braz noted that Penedo was chosen due to its hospitality, natural beauty, and the infrastructure available for large-scale filming. The city’s designation as a UNESCO Creative City of Cinema further underscores its suitability for such projects. Jair Galvão, Secretary of Tourism and Creative Economy, stated that the campaign demonstrates the municipality's potential to host national-scale productions and reinforces its growing vocation for the audiovisual sector.
