PENGASSAN and NUPRC partner to reach 3 million barrels of oil per day by 2030
The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has pledged to collaborate with the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) to reach a crude oil production target of three million barrels per day by 2030.
During a visit to the NUPRC headquarters in Abuja, PENGASSAN President Comrade Bosun Olabiyi-Agoro stated that the union is committed to supporting the Federal Government’s production ambitions. While expressing openness to negotiation and collaboration with industry regulators, Olabiyi-Agoro emphasized that workers’ rights, including the right to freely associate and join trade unions, remain non-negotiable. The union also intends to prioritize addressing issues related to contract staffing.
NUPRC Commission Chief Executive Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan noted that the Federal Government is actively working to increase production, citing recent executive orders aimed at stimulating the sector.
