Penguin Random House India launches affordable pocket-sized book series

Penguin Random House India has announced the launch of ‘Penguin Pockets’, a new series of compact, pocket-sized books designed to increase accessibility and affordability for readers. Each book in the series is priced at Rs 125.

The initiative aims to lower barriers to reading, such as cost and physical size, particularly for younger audiences. Manoj Satti, senior vice president of Sales, Product and Marketing at PRHI, stated that the goal is to create new entry points into reading by adapting to how people discover and experience books.

The debut collection features 16 titles, including works by Indian authors such as Premchand, Mahatma Gandhi, and Jawaharlal Nehru, alongside international classics by authors like George Orwell, Franz Kafka, and Charles Dickens. The series is expected to be available in bookstores and online across India by the end of October 2026.
