Penn State faces bowl eligibility concerns after loss to Michigan
Penn State football faces uncertainty regarding its bowl game eligibility following a 21-18 loss to Michigan. The defeat marks the team's fourth consecutive loss, bringing their overall record to 3-4.
Head coach Matt Campbell addressed the performance of quarterback Rocco Becht after Becht committed three turnovers that resulted in Michigan touchdowns. Despite the errors, Campbell stated he has “complete faith” in Becht and ruled out any consideration of a quarterback change, noting Becht's continued competitiveness.
In addition to turnover issues, the Nittany Lions struggled with a lack of offensive production on the ground. During the loss to the Wolverines, the rushing attack averaged only 2.2 yards per carry. Penn State enters a bye week before facing Purdue, Washington, Minnesota, Rutgers, and Maryland to conclude the season.
