Penn State football clarifies quarterback depth with Becht and Manske
Penn State football is establishing its quarterback depth heading into the upcoming season. Rocco Becht is positioned as the primary starter, bringing significant experience with 39 career starts and 26 wins. After an offseason recovering from non-throwing shoulder surgery, Becht has reportedly improved his physical conditioning, gaining lean muscle and increasing explosiveness.
Alex Manske, a transfer from Iowa State, is viewed as a vital long-term asset for the program. Head coach Matt Campbell highlighted Manske’s elite arm talent and athletic versatility, noting his potential to compete at a high level for several seasons. Manske is currently working under Becht's mentorship to prepare for future leadership roles within the Nittany Lions' offense.
