Penn State women's hockey tops AHA preseason poll

The Penn State women's hockey team has been selected to finish first in the Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) preseason poll. This ranking follows a record-breaking season for the program, which included 33 victories, seven single-season records, and the team's first Frozen Four appearance.

Individual honors were also awarded by the conference. Junior Grace Outwater has been named the AHA Pre-Season Player of the Year and earned a spot on the Pre-Season All-Conference Team. Outwater enters the upcoming season following a sophomore campaign where she led the conference in scoring with 24 goals and 40 total points.

Sophomore Danica Maynard was also named to the Pre-Season All-Conference Team. Maynard previously set a program record for points by a defenseman during her rookie season. Penn State is scheduled to play a scrimmage against RIT on September 18.
