Penn State women's volleyball defeats Michigan 3-1 in Big Ten opener

No. 14 Penn State women’s volleyball opened Big Ten play with a 3-1 victory over Michigan at the Crisler Center.

Kennedy Martin led the offensive effort for the Nittany Lions, recording 18 kills on 47 attacks. Michigan’s Cymarah Gordon led her team with 16 kills. While Michigan secured the first set 25-23, Penn State responded to take control of the match.

With this win, Penn State moves to a 9-2 overall record and 1-0 in conference play, while Michigan falls to 9-3 overall and 0-1 in the Big Ten.
