Pennsylvania allocates $54 million for 50 transportation projects

Pennsylvania is allocating nearly $54 million toward 50 transportation projects across 27 counties. Funded through the Multimodal Transportation Fund (MTF), the investments target roads, bridges, ports, aviation, and pedestrian and bicycle trails to improve safety and economic mobility.

Major statewide awards include $3 million each for bridge and road renovations in Pittsburgh, Scranton, and Pike County. Other significant allocations include $2.81 million for a bridge replacement in Lancaster County and $2.79 million for a bridge in Montgomery County. In Philadelphia, $2.14 million is designated for restoring historic streets in the Brewerytown neighborhood.

The Shapiro administration noted that $197 million has been distributed through the MTF since the current administration took office. The fund, established in 2013 as part of Act 89, aims to stabilize funding for rail freight and ports while providing dedicated resources for aviation and pedestrian infrastructure.
