Pennsylvania allocates funds for agriculture, school safety, and cybersecurity

Pennsylvania is deploying significant state funding across several sectors, including agriculture, education safety, and cybersecurity.

The Shapiro administration has announced a $9.7 million investment through the Agricultural Innovation Grant Program. This funding supports 97 projects statewide, aimed at advancing farm technology through automation, artificial intelligence, and renewable energy. The program is expected to leverage an additional $4.8 million in private investment.

In education, the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency is distributing millions in School Safety and Mental Health Grants. These funds are designated for various school districts across counties such as Schuylkill, Butler, and Lycoming to enhance physical security and provide behavioral health support for students and staff.

Additionally, the state has budgeted an extra $10 million for cybersecurity infrastructure as part of its FY2027 budget. This brings the three-year total for enhanced enterprise-wide cybersecurity updates to $30 million, supporting a shift toward a proactive zero-trust framework to protect sensitive data and digital services.
