Pennsylvania multi-vehicle crash kills one and injures eight
A multi-vehicle crash in Haverford Township, Pennsylvania, resulted in one death and eight injuries on Saturday. Police identified the driver of the pickup truck involved, 57-year-old John Ryan, as having a license that had been revoked for medical reasons.
Authorities believe Ryan experienced a medical emergency before driving erratically at high speeds. The incident spanned approximately 1.5 miles, starting at Darby Road and West Chester Pike and ending near Eagle Road. The crash damaged 16 vehicles, including a U-Haul truck.
Haverford Township Police Chief John Viola described the scale of the scene as “breathtaking.” The eight injured individuals were transported to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to recover.
