Pennsylvania officials announce grants for school safety and community institutions

State officials in Pennsylvania have announced several grant awards aimed at improving school safety and supporting community institutions.

Representative Martin Causer announced that 15 school entities in his region will receive more than $1.9 million in School Safety and Mental Health Grants. Administered through the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD), the funds are intended to strengthen physical security, address safety concerns, and provide behavioral health support for students and staff. Recipients include the Austin Area, Bradford Area, Cameron County, Coudersport Area, Galeton Area, Kane Area, Keystone Central, and several other local school districts and technical centers.

Separately, State Senator Tracy Pennycuick announced $100,000 in grants for Berks County organizations. The Boyertown Community Library and the General Carl Spaatz National USAAF Museum each received $50,000 through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. The library intends to use its funding for facility renovations to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act, while the museum will use its grant to support long-term operations and facility improvements.
