Pennsylvania police investigate scam involving Eli Heidenreich impersonation
Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a scam involving the impersonation of Pittsburgh Steelers rookie Eli Heidenreich. Two women from Avella, Pennsylvania, aged 20 and 50, reportedly lost a combined $1,000 in July after making several financial transactions with an individual they believed was the athlete.
Authorities have not yet identified a suspect or determined how the individual initially contacted the victims. Heidenreich has not been accused of any wrongdoing, as investigators believe an unknown person was falsely representing themselves using his identity. The investigation remains ongoing.
