Pennsylvania prepares for November 3 midterm elections
As the November 3 election approaches in Pennsylvania, voters will participate in races for governor, Congress, and the Pennsylvania House, with some also voting for state Senate. Registered voters in the commonwealth have had the option to vote by mail since 2020.
Despite legal challenges and efforts to restrict mail voting, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled against efforts to significantly alter mail voting procedures before the midterm election. Consequently, the United States Postal Service will deliver ballots as usual. To vote by mail, residents must submit applications online, in person at county election offices, or via mail by the October 27 deadline.
In support of civic engagement, Penn State University Libraries is hosting a virtual Voter Workshop on October 12. The session is designed to help students, particularly first-time voters, understand Pennsylvania voting logistics, registration deadlines, and how to research candidates.
