PennWest and Wright State report enrollment growth and rising retention

PennWest University and Wright State University have both reported positive enrollment trends for the fall semester.

PennWest University reported stable enrollment with 10,542 students, representing a negligible decrease from the previous year. The institution noted significant growth in specific sectors, including a 10% increase in Global Online enrollment and a doubling of its dual enrollment program for high school students. Student retention also rose by nearly two percentage points to 73.06%.

Wright State University saw a 2% increase in overall enrollment, reaching 12,157 students, which marks a 12% increase since 2022. First-time student enrollment at the Dayton campus rose by 1.6%, while the Lake Campus saw a 4.8% increase in first-time students. The university highlighted its success in recruiting Pell Grant recipients and noted that its tuition-free program for gifted students, Take Flight, has nearly doubled in enrollment since 2022.
