Penny-Market recalls 200 g Wellgood flaxseed over excess cyanide
Penny-Market Kft. has withdrawn all 200‑gram packages of the Wellgood flaxseed product from sale after the Hungarian National Trade and Consumer Protection Authority (NKFH) detected hydrogen cyanide levels above the permitted limit. The recall applies to every batch of the 200‑gram Wellgood flaxseed and the retailer is cooperating with the regulator to remove the items from its stores and to retrieve any already purchased units.
NKFH warned consumers, especially children and other sensitive groups, not to consume the product, stating that excessive cyanide can impair cellular oxygen use and pose health risks. Customers who still possess the recalled item are advised to return it to any Penny‑Market outlet for a refund or replacement.
