Penrite Racing debuts new Mercedes-Benz Actros transporter

Penrite Racing has introduced a new Mercedes-Benz Actros ProCabin transporter to its operations. Supplied by team sponsor Velocity Truck Centres, the top-of-the-line 2663 model features a tall GigaSpace cabin and is powered by a 630hp 16-litre six-cylinder engine paired with a 12-speed Automated Manual Transmission.

The vehicle includes several advanced technological features, such as the partially autonomous Active Drive Assist, which uses an electric motor in the steering box to help keep the truck centered in its lane. It also utilizes Predictive Powertrain Control (PPC), which leverages GPS and topographic map data to optimize performance.

Team truck driver Rob Davis praised the new model following a trip to Perth, noting its increased comfort, spaciousness, and quiet operation compared to the previous Actros model.
