Pension Fund forum in Kragujevac outlines rising pension targets
More than 600 pensioners participated in the 71st forum organized by the Republic Fund for Pension and Disability Insurance in Kragujevac. The event featured discussions with Fund Director Relja Ognjenović, Kragujevac Mayor Nikola Dašić, and the President of the Association of Pensioners of Serbia, Prof. Dr. Andreja Savić.
Relja Ognjenović reported significant growth in pension amounts, noting that while the average pension in Kragujevac was between 22,000 and 23,000 dinars in 2012, a 7.5 percent increase in December will bring it to between 58,000 and 59,000 dinars. The Fund aims for an average pension of 750 euros by 2030 as part of the ‘Serbia 2030’ plan.
Specific measures for low-income pensioners were highlighted, including electricity bill reductions of 1,000 dinars during the heating season. Additionally, the Fund has secured contracts with over 130 locations across Serbia to provide pensioners with easier access to laboratory analyses and private medical examinations through the Pensioner Card.
